Poetry and Art Month Book Spotlight

Art forms sometimes come from unexpected places and are undervalued in their own time. Author David A. Ensminger explores such art and its respective culture in Visual Vitriol: The Street Art and Subcultures of the Punk and Hardcore Generation. The art from the punk and hardcore music scene comes in the forms of concert posters, flyers, and street art and allows marginalized groups in society to find a voice of resistance. Some outside of this subculture may deem the art offensive or a nuisance, but these creative endeavors are a testament to the human desire to express oneself and declare one's presence where it has been ignored.
