In the early 1990’s political activist Julian Bond began to collect oral histories of prominent African Americans. The conversations centered on leadership and the speakers originated from diverse areas of American society. Speakers included John Lewis, Clarence Thomas, Eleanor Holmes Norton, Vernon Jordan, Angela Davis, Amiri Baraka, and many others. Students can access the book through the following link.

Julian Bond died on Saturday August 15, 2015. He was 75.
