According to Beirne Logan George Washington’s military experience may have influenced not only his own leadership style as President but all subsequent Presidents to follow. The book focuses on the President’s philosophical and practical views on topics such as national security revealing startling parallels with Revolutionary War era policies and those confronting the nation during the “War on Terror.”

“We have fierce debates today concerning war tactics, drone strikes on Americans, torture, military tribunals, citizens’ rights during wartime, and how to reconcile the needs of national defense with liberty and self-rule. It is not too late to learn from Washington’s leadership as we navigate our nation towards a better future.” ~ Beirne, Logan
